Friday, June 8
The State Theatre of Boyertown will host a Live Comedy Night fundraising event featuring Buddy Flip, a well known comedian from New York. The Boyertown Community Pool, 417 S. Madison Street, Boyertown, will host a teen dance for students who have completed grades 6-9 on Friday, June 15 from 7-10 p.m. The dance will be sponsored by the Borough of Boyertown Recreation Committee and the Boyertown Area YMCA. Teens may swim from 7:00-8:15 pm and then dance to the music provided by the DJ until 10 p.m. Admission is $6 per person and refreshments will be available for purchase. The Boyertown Area YMCA is accepting registration for the Arthritis Foundation YMCA Aquatic Program. Classes are held at the Daniel B. Boyer Center, 301 W. Spring St., in the heated indoor pool. The program was created for people with arthritis to keep joints flexible, muscles strong, and to help reduce the pain associated with arthritis. The Boyertown Area YMCA is accepting registration for an International Association for Handicapped Divers SCUBA diving course, which will be held on Wednesdays from 6:30 to 9:45 p.m. Lessons are taught in the pool at the Daniel B. Boyer Center, 301 W. Spring St., Boyertown. Classes are instructed by Dave Valaika of Indian Valley SCUBA. Classes are designed to allow mentally, emotionally or physically challenged divers ages 10 and older learn and enjoy the magic of SCUBA diving. The Boyertown Area YMCA is accepting registration for a synchronized swimming clinic for ages 10 years and older to be held at the Boyertown Community pool on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7 to 8 p.m. This clinic is for intermediate to advanced swimmers. They must be able to swim at least 50 yards, hold their breath under water, and tread water for one minute. The Boyertown Area YMCA is currently offering Pilates for Golfers on Mondays and Thursdays from 8-8:45 am at the Daniel B. Boyer Center, 301 W. Spring Street, Boyertown. New photography enthusiast meet-up group

Are you the one behind the camera at every event? Then you might be interested in the newest meet-up group that calls Boyertown its home. There are meet-up groups created everyday via www.meet-up.com; but only one photography group that is calling Boyertown its home. Thanks to the Boyertown Historical Society, The Photography Enthusiasts Meet-up Group has a place to meet. Every 2nd Thursday of the month, the meet-up group will gather together from 7 to-9 p.m. to share photos, techniques and general photography education. Last Thursday, was the groups first meeting. The members had a general meet and greet time followed by the sharing of black & white photography and a few tips for taking and storing pictures. The group was excited that the Friendship Hook & Ladder opened their facility to the group that evening. The photographers enjoyed watching the Junior Fire Fighters practice, meeting the staff and had the great pleasure of taking photos of the equipment, vehicles and some of the Fire Fighters who serve our community.

If you enjoy driving and meeting new people, we have a volunteer opportunity for you! Boyertown Area Multi-Service Inc. provides transportation for residents in the community who have no other means of getting to and from medical appointments.
