Shepherd of the Hills Church, Bechtelsville
Spring graduates who were recognized last Sunday include: James Bradley, Daniel Cocchimiglio, Samuel W. Costa IV, Melissa Hausman, Rodney A. Kulp Jr., Scarlett Kulp, Joshua Moser, Corey Nase, Alyssa Roney.
Those who were married or baptized at Shepherd of the Hills Church over the past 50 years will be recognized at Sunday services. The Relay for Life effort will also be featured.
Boy Scouts will meet Monday, 7 p.m.
Al Anon meets in the church on Tuesdays at 8p.m. AA groups also meet at the church on Wednesday (8 p.m.), Thursday (12:15 p.m.) and Saturday (10 a.m.)

We have more graduates to announce: Congratulations to Jillian Stauffer, she graduated from Gilford College in North Carolina with a Phychology and Associlates Degree. She will be attending Temple University to pursue her Masters Degree and also to Megan Day, she graduated from Brandywine High School and will be attending Alvernia University in the fall. May God’s blessings be upon them as they continue on.

Christ Lutheran Church, Barto
Christ Lutheran Church, 222 Niantic Road, Barto will observe the Second Sunday after Pentecost on Sunday, June 10, 2012 with services at 7:45 a.m. and 10:15 a.m.
Pastor Matthew Ollikainen will preach at both services and will present the Children’s Sermon at the 10:15 a.m. service. This Sunday is “Bring a Friend to Church” Sunday. We invite all members to bring a friend to either service and to Sunday School. Also during both services, we will recognize all members who are graduating from high school, tech school, college or other, as this is a Stepping Stone in their Christian faith. During the 10:15 a.m. service, the Workcamp Participants will be commissioned during the service. There are a total of 14 members/non-members attending the Workcamp, June 17 – 23 to Pine Grove Pa. Sunday School, for all ages, will be held at 9:00 a.m. Those ministering at the 7:45 a.m. service are: Acolyte; Justin Shaner, Lector; Dorothy Willing; and Ushers; June and Roy Herb. Those ministering at the 10:15 a.m. service are: Acolyte; Dustin Baker, Lector; Sandi Wentzel, Greeters (U): Mark VanHorn and (D): Jill VanHorn and Ushers; Debbie Pienta and Sherri Harrison. A Coffee Hour, hosted by the NOR Committee, will be held immediately following the 10:15 a.m. service in the parlor.
Tuesday, June 12, July newsletter articles are due into the church office. Then at 7:30 p.m., the Finance Committee will meet. On Thursday, June 14 at 6:30 p.m., the Social Ministry committee will have a meeting in room B. Movie Night will be held on Saturday, June 16 beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the social hall. We will be showing the movie “How to Train Your Dragon”. Popcorn and drinks will be served.
The church is located at 222 Niantic Road between routes 663 and 100 about a mile east of Bally. A nursery for preschool children is available at each 10:15 am service. Sunday school for all ages is held at 9 a.m. An Adult Bible Study class is held on Sunday mornings at 9 a.m. Visitors are always welcome. The church is handicapped accessible. On Sunday, June 10 there will be a fellowship meal in which each household should bring a main dish and a salad or dessert. We also have Sunday School classes for all ages from 9-10 a.m., and worship at 10 o’clock. Pastor Shenk will peach on “The Church.” Every Monday we have quilting open to anyone interested between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

June 24: Teen Challenge Choir Summer Concert
The concert will start at 5:00 pm and refreshments will be available at 4:00 pm. The concert will be held in the picnic grove at the church. A free will offering will be taken. The choir will offer an evening of inspiration through song and testimony.

Chuch picnic: Sunday, June 10, at Boyertown Park, Rohrbach Pavillion. Please come and join us for a day full of fun, food and fellowship. The Fellowship Committee will be providing drinks, hamburger barbecue and hot dogs. We ask everyone to please bring either a desert or side dish. Bring your friends, family and neighbors! Kids’ Praise! Psalty the Singing Songbook is back again to teach kids all about the love of God. Practices will be every Wednesday starting on June 13. Practice will be from 6 to 7 p.m. the first two weeks. Starting June 27, practice will go from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
2012 Souper Bowl of Caring updates: A nationwide report was sent to all those that participated in the Souper Bowl of Caring on Feb. 5. Pennsylvania was second (to Texas) with $421,975.08 in total dollars and food items collected. The nationwide total was $9.5 million. There were 10,087 groups reported taking part in the fight against hunger.
