Firecracker 400 postponed by rain at Grandview

Heavy rain, high winds and a power failure forced promoter Bruce Rogers to postpone the Saturday night show that would have featured the Baro Trucking Firecracker 40 for Late Models, NASCAR 358 Modifieds and Fireworks.

All of the Baro Trucking sponsored action will now be presented on Saturday, July 14 at 7:30 p.m. with the Sportsman stock cars being added to the full night of racing. Fireworks will be part of the big delayed holiday show.

In addition to all the racing action Kory Fleming and his sponsors will again be trying to giving away bicycles to six lucky youngsters.

The NASCAR Late Models will be featured in their Firecracker 40 which is their biggest event of the season with $2,000 being posted as the first place money. In addition Baro Trucking has posted $250 for the winner while TP Trailers of Limerick will give $100 to the winner provided the winner is carrying the TP decals clearly visible on both sides of the race car.

Baro Trucking has also added $125 for the winner of the NASCAR 358 Modified 30-lap feature.

All three divisions, Late Models, Modifieds and Sportsman, will run in a full series of qualifying events topped by their features.

Sunday, July 15, 1 p.m. NEETS Enduro for Big Cars (150 laps), Small Cars (150 laps) and Ladies (25 laps) plus Blast From the Past Vintage Cars in 2-15 lap features. $10 admission

Saturday, July 21, 7:30 p.m. Pepsi Challenge Night featuring URC Sprints and NASCAR 358 Modifieds. $22 for adults, $ for youngsters 6 thru 12. Under 6 are admitted FREE.

Sunday, July 22, 2 p.m. Speedway Entertainment Sunday Small Car Series featuring SpeedSTRs, Slingshots, 270 and 600 cc Micros and Legends. Kids Bike Race
