Baskets have been used for a variety of purposes—picnics, decorations, holiday traditions. There are also basket raffles. Volunteers fill baskets with a variety of items, usually chosen based on a certain theme, once all of the baskets are loaded there is date set to raffle them off to all that are interested.
Last Friday, Sept. 7, the Boyertown Multi Service Center hosted their 2nd annual basket raffle. More than two hundred people filled the center, bought their tickets, and went to examine each and every basket to determine which ones to take a chance on.
“Every basket is wonderful,” said Nancy C. Kremm, Public Relations / Food Programs Manager
This year’s theme was movies.
Nancy credited all of those who donated their time to make this event possible.
This event was funded by Boyertown United Way, Office of Aging, and membership support.
