The event fondly honors the memory and inspiration of Ally Heintz, a youngster who died several years ago at the age of three, after myriad medical issues since birth. And now the “Angels for Ally” organization helps to keep those memories vibrant.The menu includes pancakes (traditional and gluten-free), scrambled eggs, sausage, scrapple, homefries, grits, grilled sticky buns, plus hot and cold beverages (Take-outs are available). 42TH ANNUAL BELSNICKEL CRAFT SHOW

To be held at the Boyertown Senior High School; presenting approximately 140 local and regional juried artisans, will be held on Fridayfrom 11 to 7 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. All crafts for sale are hand made by artisans in the show and are not commercially manufactured or imported.

There are meet-up groups created everyday via www.meet-up.com; but only one photography group that is calling Boyertown its home. Thanks to the Boyertown Historical Society, The Photography Enthusiasts Meet-up Group has a place to meet. Every 2nd Thursday of the month, the meet-up group will gather together from 7 to-9 p.m. to share photos, techniques and general photography education.

Volunteer Transportation Drivers Needed

If you enjoy driving and meeting new people, we have a volunteer opportunity for you! Boyertown Area Multi-Service Inc. provides transportation for residents in the community who have no other means of getting to and from medical appointments. Registration For Fall Programs
Beginning Wednesday, Aug. 15 the Boyertown Area YMCA will accept program registrations for the Fall 1 & 2 2012 sessions. Fall 1 session runs from Sept. 2 through Oct. 27. Fall 2 session runs from Oct. 28 through Dec. 29. Fall sessions offer a variety of programming for all ages and include programs held at the Boyertown Area YMCA’s three centers: The Daniel B. Boyer Center, the Gilbertsville Center and the William S. Hollenbach Center. Registration can be done by phone or in person. Members can also sign up to register online. YMCA Hot Yoga Class
The Boyertown Area YMCA will offer a Hot Yoga Class from 6:30-8pm on Wednesday’s at the Daniel B. Boyer Center. Hot Yoga is a yoga class that offers a series of challenging poses in a heated room. All levels of fitness age 13 and older are welcome. Space is limited and registration is necessary. YMCA offers Punk Rope Class
Punk Rope, a fitness class which mixes recess and boot camp, will be held at the Boyertown Area YMCA Daniel B. Boyer Center on Wednesdays from 7:15 – 8:00 p.m. beginning Sept. 5. Punk Rope’s combination of rope jumping, relay races, fitness games, and raise-the-roof music.

YMCA Offers Gymnastics Classes

The Boyertown Area YMCA is offering a variety of gymnastics classes for children age’s three to twelve. Children in the beginner classes will learn forward and backward rolls, moves on the balance beam, vaulting, low bar, cartwheels, round offs and other gymnastic movements. The intermediate classes are designed, for those with experience, a chance to continue refining their skills. YMCA Offers Novice Wrestling Program

The Boyertown Area YMCA is offering a Novice Wrestling Program held at the William S. Hollenbach Center. This program is for Pre-K and Kindergarten aged children with the minimum age of 4 years old by 9/1/12. This program will follow established BAWA practice plans and philosophy and will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays November 6th to December 20th from 5:30 – 6:30 pm. YMCA Holds 5th & 6th Grade Social

The Boyertown Area YMCA is sponsoring 5th and 6th Grade Socials for Boyertown Area School District students in grades 5th and 6th on October 27, November 17, and December 15 from 7:00-9:00 pm at the Daniel B. Boyer Center, 301 W. Spring Street, Boyertown. A local DJ will provide the music for dancing and refreshments and snacks will be available for purchase. The dress code of the Boyertown Area School District will be enforced. Cost is $6 to enter. Parents are always welcome to volunteer as chaperones.

Youth Basketball League
The Boyertown Area YMCA is coordinating a Youth Basketball League for children grades Kindergarten through 4th Grade at the William S. Hollenbach Center. The league will take place on Saturdays, December 8th to February 23rd game and practice times will vary. Players will be placed on teams and learn skills of the game through practice and games. The Boyertown Area YMCA is coordinating an instructional Outdoor Soccer League for children ages 4 - 9 years old, on Sundays, Jan. 6 to Feb. 17. The league will take place at the Daniel B. Boyer Center, 301 W. Spring Street, Boyertown, game and practice times will vary. Players will be placed on teams according to their age and will learn the skills of soccer through practice and games in this recreational league. League is instructed by YMCA staff. The Boyertown Area YMCA is offering a variety of youth super sports classes for children in kindergarten through 6th grade. Children have the opportunity to register for Soccer, Gymnastics, Basketball, Advanced Basketball, Tennis, Hockey and Volleyball. These instructional classes will develop and enhance the skills of the sports program, teach rules of the game, increase social interaction and promote sportsmanship. Pee Wee Multi Sport
The Boyertown Area YMCA is offering Pee Wee Multi Sport classes for children ages 3-6 years old. Gym Classes for Homeschool Children Held at the YMCA

Weekly offering: Homeschool Physical Education classes for children in Kindergarten - 8th grade. The class will meet at the Daniel B. Activities and sports are rotated weekly to include soccer, basketball, floor hockey, baseball, gymnastics, fitness and swimming. Registration held for swim lessons at YMCA:

Registration for swim lessons for the fall session at the Boyertown Area YMCA Daniel B. Boyer Center, 301 W. Spring St., Boyertown, begins October 10 and ends October 23. Lessons are offered for swimmers of all abilities from beginner to advanced. Registration is limited. YMCA swim lessons include safety, stroke development, games, and character development. A $10 per child late fee will be charged for registration after October 23. The program was created for people with arthritis to keep joints flexible, muscles strong, and to help reduce the pain associated with arthritis. CPR certifications offered at YMCA

Now accepting registration for American Red Cross courses: Community CPR w/ AED on 11/28; CPR recertification on 11/15 or 12/10; First Aid Basics on 11/10; CPR for the Professional Rescuer recertification on 12/4. All classes will be held at the Gilbertsville Center, 144 Holly Road, Gilbertsville. A YMCA membership is not required to participate, although enrollment is limited, and registration is required one week prior to the start of the class. Scuba course for Handicapped individuals held at YMCA

Registration now accepted for an International Association for Handicapped Divers SCUBA diving course, which will be held on Wednesdays from 6:30 to 9:45 p.m. Lessons are taught in the pool at the Daniel B. Boyer Center, 301 W. Spring St., Boyertown. Classes are instructed by Dave Valaika of Indian Valley SCUBA. Classes are designed to allow mentally, emotionally or physically challenged divers ages 10 and older learn and enjoy the magic of SCUBA diving. Classes run year-round and there is no cost for this program. Family and private formats can be arranged at additional cost. Pre competitive swim clinic held at YMCA

Pre-competitive swim clinic
The Boyertown Area YMCA is accepting registration for the pre-competitive swim clinic for children ages 6-9 years. The clinic is held Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:00 – 6:45 p.m. at the Daniel B. Boyer Center, 301 W. Spring St., Boyertown, from October 29 through December 12. Children will learn the competitive strokes, turns, and starts. They must be able to complete 25 yards of rotary breathing over arm stroke and 25 yards of back stroke to enroll. The Boyertown Area YMCA is accepting registration for a SCUBA diving course, which will be held on Wednesdays from 6:30 to 9:45 p.m. Lessons are taught in the pool at the Daniel B. Special Olympics held at YMCA

The Boyertown Area YMCA, in collaboration with the Boyertown Kiwanis Club, is hosting the Special Olympics Swimming Program on Wednesday evenings from 6:45 to 7:30 p.m. The program will begin on November 7 and continue until April 2013. All special needs individuals ages 6 and older are welcome. Classes are held in the YMCA’s heated indoor pool with a wheelchair accessible ramp. Athletes focus on developing swimming skills, being good teammates, and having fun. Pre-registration is requested and volunteers are always welcome to assist with instruction and coaching. YMCA to offer new class: Boxilates

To be held from 6-6:30 pm on Wednesday at the Daniel B. Boyer Center, 301 W. Spring Street, Boyertown, and 10:10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Mondays and Fridays at William S. Hollenbach Center, 3065 N. Charlotte Street, Gilbertsville. Boxilates is a combination of Kickboxing and Pilates. This class is a great cardiovascular and core class.
