The Center at Spring Street in Boyertown held its Annual Talent Show on Tuesday, Nov. 13. This year marked the 18th talent show!
Talented seniors gave vocal performances, danced, played musical instruments and even presented a reading. The yearly talent show is organized by Robin Ward and Sharon D’Andrea, program staff for The Center at Spring Street.
Eugene Rohrbach offered a rousing vocal rendition of the Hank Williams song “Still in Love with You”. An original song titled “Spring Street”, written by Joe Martinez to the music of the 1963 hit “South Street”, was performed. Suellen McCann sang a wonderful rendition of “How Great Thou Art”. “In the Garden” was beautifully performed by Wilbur Cooper. Ken Hoch had the audience laughing with a few jokes before performing his vocal selection. Larry Smith played the piano without the benefit of any sheet music. Jerry Keenan sang an original song while he also played the guitar. Mel Zohe gave a very poignant and thoughtful reading. And, the Spring Street Line Dancers also performed – the company consists of: Jane Renson, Lillian Hulme, Dottie Hinnershitz, Ruth Spatz, Mary Stoudt, Gloria Weller and Norm Wilkie.
The audience participated in a Sing-along, as well as, a skit to the song “Singing in the Bathtub“. A great time was had by all and we are looking forward to our 19th Annual Talent Show in November, 2013.
