There is nothing like viewing a show on the big screen of a local historic movie theatre with more than 250 of closes friends and family members. Just ask Kevin Zimmers, who, on Nov. 12, 2012 brought the Boyertown community together at the Historic State Theatre of Boyertown for a special showing of The American Pickers cable televsion show which featured himself and his local antique museum located at Zimmer’s Pet Store in Boyertown.
Zimmers hosted this event as a fundraiser to support the State Theatre’s restoration efforts. As shown in the picture, $2,560.00 has been donated to Kevin Rhude, owner of the State Theatre, by Kevin Zimmers.
“It was an awesome event to bring the community together,” stated Zimmers. In addition to the American Pickers show, Zimmers also displayed some of his most unique “Boyertown Collectibles” and the audience was treated to a special sneak preview of Kevin and his daughter, Gracie’s very own “Local Picking” cable TV show which will air sometime in February.
